Welcome
to Your Story
You are a well. And this deep well of YOU, is connected to the ancients, and it is taught to you through the right-now.
StoryWell is a space to honor, explore, and express who and what you truly are, and the stories you are meant to tell, in the ways you were born to tell them.
ABOUT
Amy K. Thompson has been in the narrative space professionally for ten years, and much longer as an artist, writer, musician, and poet. As a narrative specialist she's traveled the world speaking, listening, teaching, coaching, and facilitating narrative workshops and depth work with clients ranging from beekeepers to professional athletes, grandmothers to first graders - all to do one thing: to feel for the truth, to tell it, to do good with it, and to heal.
Her own story has wound the stretches of human fairy tales - from her first home underground, to guiding boats down turquoise glacial whitewater - her narrative instincts are ones of travel - adventurous, curious, and steady at depth. Her first story teachers were extraordinary truth tellers: people living in pain. Her beginnings as a physical therapist gave her a privileged seat next to heavy tears, death beds, and unbound hope. A continued cross-pollination in varied healing and expressive modalities, has left her as bold and hopeful with story and humanity as she's ever been.
She cannot wait to hear your story.

MY SERVICES
Experiential Narrative
Immersive experiential sessions
Experiential narrative is deep play and creation for all ages. Both visual and tactile - we will use items, and images, and all matter of objects to build your stories from the inside out. We will shape your story into something you can interact with, and learn from. This is a somatic process for those ready to see on the outside, the stories they carry inside - and to let your story show you / take you somewhere new. (Excellent for threshold times)
Story Coaching
Personal narrative excavation
Most artists (humans) carry stories longing to be told, aching for them to pick up a pen or find a stage. This is a soft landing for writers, creators, activists, artists - this is sacred territory, and a walk together into your depth to bring out your story treasures. Your story knows the way.
Somatic Story Healing
To live a new story, we need to feel a new experience
We were never meant to heal alone. This experiential, body-based, group process, is in the lineage of PBSP (Pesso-Boyden System Psychomotor). In three-dimensional space, we follow your body into its language of longings (often young wounds) and unmet needs. We show up for each other as a group, to imagine and experience new possibilities through the body.*
Speaking + Facilitation
Workshops to expand and deepen
Whether speaking to catalyze your team or conference around the narrative bravery these times are calling for; or facilitating a workshop for your organization - I move us into spaces of communal knowing, narrative attunement, and building together the boldest narratives available to us to do the good work in the world we are uniquely meant to do (together).

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS
Amy helped me get closer to myself -- that is, her tremendous ability to witness me as a creative person, to reflect, gently guide, and excavate where needed, allowed me to hone in, with clarity, on my truest sense of purpose as an artist. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with her.

When Amy and I first connected the timing was pretty ideal for me in the sense that I was ready to share my experience in a more open and inclusive way for perhaps the first time, at least in the larger context of including my own story. Motivated after completing my first feature film and being asked to go on tour and speak publicly, I was extremely nervous talking on behalf of a culture that wasn’t mine, especially after garnering such deep love and respect from this community warranted or not. The community had graciously allowed me and my partner unprecedented access to tell their incredible story of resilience and strength, and I felt both the burden and privilege of that weight. She helped me find confidence, that was present in other aspects of my life, re-direct and harness that energy towards sharing my experience learning from the culture while creating the film. This was empowering and felt more honest to what the experience had been. To further complicate the challenge Amy had working with me, there was a sizeable fear of speaking publicly which began decades earlier when I was sixteen after my brother died. The memory of sharing stories about his life at his memorial service is impressionistic at best. So when it came time to work with Amy, I handed her the keys, and in return I found clarity on not only my own story but how to position speaking about the stories of others to include this bridge of empathy and to speak from the perspective of experience and heart. Amy helped me see myself more clearly connecting the dots of my past to the present by finding the themes and threads that were already within myself. She helped me harness the strength within me, shaping and sharpening my story and voice, while teaching me the value and empowerment of sharing that important part of myself and how it all relates to who I am and the work I create.

Amy is a deeply intuitive and compassionate sojourner. Working with Amy was a gift to me and she brought so much profound wisdom and presence to her work. Before I knew I was ready to write my first book, Amy clearly perceived a new thing was happening within me and gently invited me to consider the format of my writing. When I was ready to write my book, Amy encouraged me to listen deeply to my inner voice and allow my inner voice to shape my writing. Amy truly sees people and collaborates with them to unearth their authentic story in their craft. Throughout my writing process, Amy provided timely check-ins and words of encouragement. I believe anyone would grow profoundly by working with Amy!
